EYFS Class Newsletter Autumn 1
Welcome back to Autumn 2
We hope that you have all had a lovely half term holiday and we are excited to hear about all of the adventures that the children have had.
Here is an outline of what we will be working on this half term:
Maths Focus | We will be focussing upon numbers to 10- counting accurately, selecting the correct numeral and forming numbers. We will also be identifying one more and one less than a given number |
Reading Focus |
Author of the Term: Julia Donaldson We will continue with our daily Read Write Inc phonics sessions where children will embed and apply the sounds they have learnt so far. Children will also be introduced to a range of high frequency words to aid their reading of simple sentences. We will be discussing the stories that we listen to, looking at the words the author uses and what they mean.
|
Writing Focus | We will start to write simple words using the sounds that we know |
Topic | Celebrations
|
PE | On a Friday we will have our PE lessons with Mrs Anderton. Please make sure that children have their full PE kits in school all week and that all items of clothing have their names in. |
Computing | Using ipads and programmable toys |
What can parents/carers do to help? |
|
Learning Journey | During your child’s time in reception their learning will be captured through observations, videos and photographs and uploaded onto Tapestry. We appreciate that a huge amount of learning takes place at home and would really appreciate you uploading any special learning moments onto Tapestry. |
Please do not hesitate to pop in at the end of the day if you have any questions or queries
