Welcome back to Summer term Year 3!
I hope you’ve all had a lovely break and you are well rested. We are going to have a busy term, full of new learning and lots of activities!
Below is some information which I hope that you will find useful:
PE kits will need to be in school on Tuesdays and swimming kits Wednesdays. Kits can be left in school throughout the half term and it will be sent home at the end of every half term.
Homework will be given out on a Wednesday and should be returned to school for the following Monday in order for it to be marked before the next weeks is issued. This book should be handed in weekly.
|English||We are focusing on two books this half term. ‘Paddington’ and ‘Silence Seeker’ We will be focusing on explanation texts and diary entries. These books fit well with our theme of no outsiders, looking at refugees.|
|Maths||We are going to be working on money and measurement.|
|Science||We are learning all about plants and how they survive.|
|Topic||We will be learning all about Paddington and his journey. We are looking at human and physical features of the journey. We will also be creating our sketch maps and creating collages.|
|RE||We will be focusing on the hole trinity|
|PE||Tuesday – ball games Wednesday – Swimming|
|ICT||We will be using powerpoint and also using Purple mash to do art and learn coding.|
|Music||We will be learning a new song on the glockenspiels and composing our own!|
|Spanish||We will be learning how to tell the story of the hungry caterpillar in Spanish!|
Remember if your child reads 3 times a week they will earn a Proud Cloud sticker so please bring in your reading records.
